Ramblings of an Emotional mind!

First...Happy Birthday Mom! Enjoy a pina colada for me on the beach!!!

Well I have survived my second day with the home daycare. Of course I have gotten off easily and have been missing 2 children both days...So tomorrow will be the real test as I will have all 7 children for the first time! Wish me Luck!!

I watched the saddest program while the kids were napping yesterday! A family ( in australia I think) were expecting the birth of twins. And when the girls were delivered they were conjoined at the head. One of them was doing okay and one was struggling. I watched as the mother nursed each girl in turn, oh how she loved them. The Drs. wanted desperately to keep them both alive, the longer they both lived the more tests they could run to see how interconnected they were, and the more detailed a plan they could get to one day seperate them.
Well it turned out that after 3 weeks, the little one that was struggling got worse, she developped high blood pressure among other things. But they found that giving her the medication to lower her blood pressure was harming the other little one.
The parents now had a decision to make. They could decide to have an emergency surgery to seperate the girls, where the chance of one surviving was slim, and the other one wouldn't survive at all. Or they could leave them and they would both surely die.
I sobbed...I could not imagine ever making that decision. But as both girls began to get worse, they finally decided to go ahead with the surgery. I watched through my own tears as this Mother held her little girls and said good bye to the one that would not survive. After 19 hours of surgery the stronger of the 2 girls emerged, in critical care, but alive. She is now 2 years old!!!
After I watched the show Savanna came downstairs and I hugged her tight, saying a silent prayer of thangsgiving. A few minutes later I scooped a sleeping Cyndel into my arms and cried!
Sorry for the sad note...It touched my heart so deeply that I just had to share.

On a happier theme Cyndel is SO close to walking...I would actually say she is walking. She walks about 70% of the time now...and it takes her so long to get from 1 destination to the other!!!If she is going for a long stretch then she crawls, but she will walk around in the room once she has crawled from one room to the next! It's very exciting and Savanna loves to stand away from her and say "Come to me Cyndel...walk to me" and she holds her arms out and Cyndel walks right into them and gives her a great hug! Wish I had a camera to show you... I'm expecting some GREAT pictures from Mexico Mom and Dad!

.....

HOLA!!
Well, I have just dropped my parents off at the airport. They are on their way to Mexico for 2 weeks of sun, fun and food! I, on the other hand have accepted the daunting task of taking over Mom's home daycare. For the next 2 weeks it will be me against 4 preschoolers and 3 babies aged 15 mths, 13 mths, and 11 mths. LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!
I'll keep you all posted on my sanity as the week progresses!!! Seriously, I think it will be fun though, Just very tiring!
Yesterday was my 5 year anniversary, and here is how we celebrated:
We went to rumors Comedy Club and watched Dean Haglund, he was SO funny. I was laughing so hard at several points that I couldn't see for the tears in my eyes. For the most part I found his performance to be quite clean. He himself wasn't a terribly vulgar man. Some of the audience participation would give his "comedy arc" a vulgar turn and the cursing would start. I found it noteworthy that when a cursing streak would start the laughing would die down significantly. It's interesting that people curse frequently but don't find it humourous to listen to someone else do it. He was very professional though, and would change the directions and pace of his act as quickly as possible. I should point out that the "We" who went to celebrations was myself and my girlfriend Rachelle! Sanjay don't forget is still in Edmonton :( After Rumors we rented the Thornbirds and went back to Rachelles to watch it. (We were half way through; it's been a work in progress!)
Sanjay, for our anniversary, stayed home by himself and watched The Day after Tomorrow. We will celebrate together when I go out there in March.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MY LOVE.

*quick note...I won't be able to add pictures for a few weeks because my parents borrowed our camera to go to Mexico so all I have now is a 35mm, and it's too much of a pain to get pictures on to the computer from it.

TV success (or lack of TV!!)

So I sit down to write about my average day when I realize that Cyndel is some where out of view whimpering in a strange, repetitive kind of way. I stand up and peer over the monitor and see Cyndel sitting in front of the couch looking rather frustrated. She some how managed to get the handle of Savanna's dance bag slipped over her head and was desperately trying to take it off. My first instinct was to rush over and help my little one out of her predicament. But upon assessing the situation I decided that she was in no real danger and I grabbed the camera instead. After several futile attempts at pulling the bag from around her neck she decided to just put it under her arm and forget about it. She's so mellow!
I've decided to learn how to make a real website, so once I figure it out and get it made, all of this will dissapear! I don't forsee that happening very soon though. I will be spending the next 2 weeks running the home daycare at my parents house while they vacation in Mexico...Bon Voyage! Then I will be home for a week and after that I am driving out to Edmonton to visit with Sanjay!! I imagine I will start the website in April when I get back, so look for updates then!
Today has been a great tvless day. This is something I have been working desperately on. I felt that Savanna was watching entirely too much tv. Not that we have cable, but she loves watching movies, and will sit for the entire program. No, No, we aren't talking about shorts, or half hour cartoons. She likes full length, live action movies. Anything from the Disney Classics (and remakes) like Annie and The Parent Trap or Mary Poppins, to more modern movies like Confessions of a teenage drama Queen and Freaky Friday with Lindsay Lohan. She loves all 3 Harry Potters, the ewok movies, and E.T. She also loves old musical classics like Meet Me in St. Louis with Judy Garland. Well today we didn't watch any tv until now...She is watching a little bit of Newsies before bed. We did however listen to every song from her music file and it holds most of the songs from her favorite musicals!!! Ah Well...It isn't tv right? and we were able to do lots of fun things why we sang along.

It's Valentines Day and I'm alone

So Happy Valentines day to everyone! Sanjay is still in Edmonton and will be there for quite some time. This means that not only do we have to spend today apart...but we also don't get to celebrate our 5th anniversary together. We will have been married for five years this Friday, and I am not making a trip to Edmonton until the middle of March.
Since he's been gone, my girls have discovered a much earlier bed time. At one time they used to go to bed between 8:15 and 8:45. Now they are usually in bed before 8!! Mommy needs a break by that time!! I never realised that just having Sanjay home after work in the evenings was such a help. Oh I long for the time when we can be together again!
Well today we are going to Mamma and Poppa's house for a Valentines party. (That would be my Mom and Dad for those who don't know) It will be interesting to see them high and candy and still in bed by 8....hmmmm....well I guess we'll see!
We have been patiently waiting for Tanya to have her baby. She has been threatening for the last week...but no show for this little one. We'll keep you posted on that one!
New Pictures coming soon! Please feel free to comment whenever the need arises.

My First post!!

So I have seen alot of people with blogs and it looks interesting. I like the idea of keeping family up to date on our family.
I'm going to try keeping on top of this and updating whenever I can.

Here's hoping!
